HOW IT WORKS
Select the photos, documents, or other files you want to rename. Their file formats stay the same.
Add text and numbers, or paste a spreadsheet. Duplicate names and invalid characters are flagged before you save.
Extract the ZIP to find your neatly named files. Your originals stay untouched, so you can check the results first.
Put current filenames, including extensions, in column A and new names in column B. Copy both columns into “Match a spreadsheet”. Uncheck the header option if your selection has no header row. Save imported CSV files as UTF-8. Files missing from the table keep their existing names.
Edit the new name beside the red message. Names that differ only in letter case or Unicode composition still count as duplicates. Characters such as /, \, :, *, ?, quotation marks, reserved system names, and leading or trailing spaces or dots are not allowed. Resolve all errors to enable the ZIP download.
Filenames and contents are processed only in this tab’s memory. There are no file uploads, analytics scripts, or external fonts. Hosting providers process connection information to deliver and protect this website; see the Privacy page. Refreshing clears the selected files. We create ZIP copies without modifying the originals. Downloads and rename logs remain on your device, so review them before sharing.
Only the filenames change; file bytes are preserved. Folder structure, original modification times, and permissions are not preserved. Files are bundled without compression, so the ZIP is about the same size as the originals combined. On memory-limited devices, use smaller batches.
